Ostchem enterprises increased production of medical oxygen by 15 times


From 1 January through 31 October 2021, three enterprises of Ostchem, a nitrogen holding company, produced and supplied 283,576 m3 of medical oxygen to health care institutions. During this period, the output of medical oxygen at the enterprises increased by 15.5 times. Nowadays, medical oxygen is being supplied to hospitals in seven regions of Ukraine.

 

In October, there was a significant increase in the output of medical oxygen; all Ostchem holding enterprises produced a total of 90,756 m3, which is 3.1 times as much as in September 2021.

 

In particular:

 

PJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy) produced 18,801 m3 of medical oxygen in September and 37,548 m3 in October. The company supplies oxygen to medical institutions in Cherkasy, Kyiv, Volyn and Zhytomyr regions.

 

PJSC “Rivneazot” (Rivne) produced 1,788 m3 of medical oxygen in September and 26,915 m3 in October. The company supplies medical oxygen to hospitals in Rivne, Volyn and Zhytomyr regions.

 

PrJSC “Severodonetsk Azot Association” (Severodonetsk) produced 10,080 m3 of medical oxygen in September and 43,908 m3 in October. The company supplies medical oxygen to the hospitals in Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

“We have worked out the algorithm on how to cooperate with the local authorities. We provide medical oxygen at the disposal of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine; in turn, the Ministry coordinates the distribution of oxygen cylinders among the hospitals. Directors of our production plants personally coordinate the supply of medical oxygen with the city mayors and Heads of the Regional State Administrations. According to the decision of Group DF shareholders, we produce and supply all medical oxygen to the health care institutions free of charge. Our employees have been working together with the healthcare professionals 24/7,” – commented Oleg Arestarkhov, Head, Corporate Communications Department, Group DF.

NOTE. According to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (protocol decision of 11 October 2021), the required estimated medical oxygen flow during the peak period in the country is 970,496.5 l/min. To provide this medical oxygen flow, Ukraine needs 1,750.219 m3/day or 623,077.9 m3/year.
