NIKA-TERA seaport handed over a new batch of medical equipment to Mykolayiv hospitals


Specialized Sea Port NIKA-TERA LLC, a member of Group DF owned by Dmytro Firtash, transferred a new batch of medical equipment and individual protective gear to the Mykolayiv Regional Center for Treatment of Infectious Diseases. 15 oxygen concentrators, 5,000 medical facemasks and 100 l of sanitizer were supplied to the medical institution.

 

According to Ms. Svitlana Fedorova, chief medical officer, Mykolayiv Regional Center for Treatment of Infectious Diseases, this was the third tranche of assistance to the medical institution – the main stronghold in the fight against coronaviruses in Mykolaуiv region. 

 

In total, the sea port handed over 17 oxygen concentrators, 5,000 disposable masks, 500 FFP-3 respirators, 20 medical beds, 60 bioprotective suits, 50 protective overalls, 2 laryngoscopes, 2 sprayers, bactericidal mobile irradiators, 500 pairs of nitrile gloves, 200 sets of sterile surgical coating and 200 l of sanitizers to the infectious diseases hospitals.

“This assistance is very important for our medical institution. We would use this equipment not only for treating the coronavirus infection but also in other departments of infectious disease center.  The concentrators that were given to us are mobile and can be used not only in the intensive care unit but also in other departments that would require the urgent supply of oxygen to the patients.  We are talking about patients with broncho-pulmanory and cardiovascular diseases,” – said Ms. Svitlana Fedorova.

 

Overall, since April, the sea port purchased and handed over 1 388 units of medical equipment and supplies as well as 11 344 units of individual protective gear to 6 medical institutions in the region. The sea port already provided assistance to the medical institutions in Mykolayiv, such as: Mykolayiv city hospitals No. 1, No 3 and No. 5, the Mykolayiv maternity hospital No. 1, Primary Health Care Center No. 7 and the Regional Center for Treatment of Infectious Diseases.

Health of our citizens is the priority of our corporate social policy.  Assistance to the doctors of Mykolayiv is the result of the systemic cooperation between the business and the local authorities. Smooth interaction with the doctors allowed us to identify their needs in a timely manner and take right decisions to make this assistance as much effective as possible. The sea port delivered on its commitments and purchased everything it promised. Medical equipment and personal protective gear have already been delivered to the hospitals,” – commented Mr. Alim Agakishiev, Harbormaster, SSP NIKA-TERA.

 

Altogether, the seaport allocated more than UAH 2,000,000 to purchase various medical equipment and individual protective gear to the medical institutions of Mykolayiv city.
