Zaporozhye Titanium and Magnesium Combine increased titanium sponge production in March 2014
Zaporozhye Titanium and Magnesium Combine, a part of titanium business of Group DF, increased its titanium sponge production in March 2014 by 8.8% from 464 to 505 tons compared to February 2014.
“We have fully realised our production plan for March. Apart from the increased titanium sponge production output, we have also increased sales by 43% by shipping 528 tons,” noted Volodymyr Sivak, Director of ZTMC. “We were able to achieve positive results thanks to an increased demand for titanium sponge on the global markets. We are also ready to increase production further should we see further market improvements.”
The combined titanium sponge production at ZTMC in Q1 2014 totaled 1,524 tons.
Volodymyr Sivak also confirmed that ZTMC continues implementation of production capacity modernisation programme announced earlier by Group DF.
This programme provides for gradual investments in construction of new titanium sponge production capacities, which would enable ZTMC to produce up to 40,000 tons of titanium sponge per year.
