Nika Tera seaport wins two nominations of the National Maritime Rating of Ukraine


Nika_Tera_shipNika Tera Specialised Seaport, part of OSTCHEM holding, became the winner of the National Maritime Rating of Ukraine in two nominations based on the results of 2013.

 

The Golden Pier 2013 memorable sign was awarded for construction of two peers with total length of 531 meters. Nika Tera also won the New Terminal 2013 nomination for launching new facilities with the capacity of 1.7 million tons for mineral fertilizer transhipment.

 

“In 2013, Nika Tera implemented a number of projects aimed at increasing its grain and mineral fertilizer storage and transhipment capacities,” noted Oleksandr Gaidu, Chairman of Nika Tera Specialised Seaport LLC. “We are happy to see our efforts duly appreciated by the industry experts. We will continue implementing our strategic development program aimed at developing a modern sea terminal,” added Mr Gaidu.

 

In 2013, Group DF invested over UAH 200 million into expanding Nika Tera’s grain and fertilizer transhipment capacities, as well as into speeding up the mineral fertilizer transhipment process. As the result, in 2013, the port set its new monthly cargo turnover record (518,600 tons), as well as new grain transhipment record (375,000 tons).

 

The National Maritime Rating of Ukraine is run with support from the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the Administration of Seaports of Ukraine, as well as industry associations. 45 laureates were awarded in 19 nominations in 2013.

 

In 2012, Nika Tera was awarded with the Golden Ton memorable sign of the National Maritime Rating of Ukraine for achieving its record annual cargo turnover of 4.7 million tons in 2011.
