In January 2021, PJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy) produced by 20% more fertilizers compared year-on-year with the previous year

In January 2021, PJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy), a member of Group DF nitrogen line of business, produced 180,700 t of nitrogen fertilizers.

 

In particular, the company produced 58,200 t of commercial ammonium nitrate, 44,400 t of commercial urea, 75,500 t of urea ammonium nitrate (UAN), 2,600 t of aqueous ammonia. Over the reporting period, the company also produced 66,800 t of ammonia and 74,000 t of non-concentrated nitric acid, which is the raw material for the production of nitrogen fertilizers.

“The beginning of the year was quite successful. The plant’s capacities were loaded to the maximum, the company has delivered and continues to deliver on all 100% of the contracts to supply mineral fertilizers. Thanks to the modernization of M-5 workshop, we have increased the production of non-concentrated nitric acid by 34%. It allowed us to increase the output of fertilizers by 20%. In particular, the production of ammonium nitrate increased by 18%, and UAN – by 76%. At the same time, urea production was reduced by 23%. Thus, we change the product mix to meet the demand. Now the farmers have a high season, so we will keep maintaining high production volumes,” commented Vitalii Sklyarov, Chairman of the Board, PJSC “AZOT”.

The plant continues to increase the production of new types of UAN with different nitrogen content. Thus, the production of UAN-32 increased from 40,400 t in January 2020 to 44,900 t this year. Whereas last January, only 2,000 t of UAN-30 was produced, this January the output reached 15,400 t. This January, the company produced 15,200 tons of UAN-28, whereas last year it was not produced at all.

 

In 2020, UAH324.1 million was invested in PJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy) modernization. The major investment projects included upgrade of department No. 1 of M-5 workshop producing non-concentrated nitric acid. This ambitious project lasted for almost 1.5 years. The volume of investments amounted to UAH 18 million.

 

In January 2020, PJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy) produced 149,600 t of nitrogen fertilizers: 49,200 t of commercial ammonium nitrate; 57,400 t of commercial urea; 42,500 t of UAN; 582 t of aqueous ammonia.
