Nika-Tera sea port (SSP Nika Tera LLC is a part of the Group DF port business) handled 3 million tons of cargo for the eight months of 2017, that is 43% more than in the same period last year. In the total volume of cargo turnover, share of cereals amounted to 63% (1,867 K tons), bulk cargoes – 32% (954 K tons), mineral fertilizers – 5% (142 K tons). The port also processed 0.5 K tons of general cargo.

In January-August, Nika-Tera port handled also 166 dry-cargo ships.

“We have put into operation the second ship loading machine, due to which the speed of loading of ships increased significantly. We managed to receive and process five Panamax vessels in two months, while only two were processed in the same period of the previous year, Alim Agakishyyev, Chairman of SSP Nika Tera LLC, commented . – For today, handling the vessels of Panamax type is a priority for Nika-Tera”.

According to the top manager, the increase in the speed of servicing allowed Nika-Tera to become more attractive for customers, whose sales market are oriented to large-tonnage lots (Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Bangladesh).

“We offer a wide range of services for the processing of Panamax, which includes: loading the vessel at the berth to an allowable draft of 10.3-10.5 m, feeding and loading barges with further loading them in the roadstead”, Alim Agakishyyev added.

The total time for loading Panamax vessels takes from 6 to 8 days, taking into account the time of the fleet’s transition along the Bug-Dnipro-Liman Canal (BDLC). Along with the deep-water ports of Ukraine, this scheme allows Nika-Tera sea port to stay competitive in the market for handling large-capacity vessels.

As a result of the commissioning of an additional shiploader, the port’s capacities now allow to handle a Panamax-type vessel by 2 loaders simultaneously on 2 berths or 3 vessels of Handy type at 3 berths.

In August 2017, Nika-Tera sea terminal transshipped 431 K tons of cargo, increasing last year’s figure by 6%. Share of cereals in the structure of the August handling amounted to 62% (266 K tons), bulk cargoes – 37% (158 K tons), general cargo 1% (6.9 K tons). In August, the port handled 20 dry cargo vessels.
