19 October 2017 In Q1-Q3 of 2017 Nika-Tera marine port increased the turnover by 44%For three quarters of 2017, the Sea Specialized Port Nika-Tera LLC (part of Group DF port business) processed 3.35 million tons of cargo, which is 44% more than the same period last year. In the total volume of cargo turnover, grain transshipment amounted to 63% (2,126 K tons), bulk cargo – 32% (1,070 K tons), mineral fertilizers – 5% (156,3 K tons). Transshipment of general cargo for January-September amounted to 0.5 K tons.
In just three quarters of 2017, 184 vessels were handled.
The growth of cargo turnover volumes was facilitated by an increase in the transshipment of grain crops and clay, as well as the expansion of the nomenclature of leguminous crops, in particular, the handling of peas. It was told by the Head of the “Nika-Tera” port Alim Agakishyyev.
“Due to the re-profiling of warehouses for storage of agricultural products that were previously used for the storage of fertilizers, we managed to significantly increase the volumes of grain legumes. As a result, “Nika-Tera” became the leader among the Ukrainian port operators for transshipment of peas with a share of 43%”, the Head of Nika-Tera port Alim Agakishyyev commented.
According to the top manager, in addition to increasing the volume of transshipment of leguminous crops, the terminal managed to increase the handling volumes of clay by 18% compared to the same period last year. In particular, since the beginning of the year the Nika-Tera port has processed about 1 million tons of clay and became the leader among the Ukrainian ports for transshipment of this cargo.
Also, according to the information of the port, in general for the period from January to September 2017, Nika-Tera handled 55% more cargo in the roadstead than during the same period last year. Thanks to this, for three quarters of 2017 compared to the same period of 2016 grain transshipment increased by 20%.
In September 2017 Nika-Tera handled about 389.5 K tons of cargo. Grain crops amounted 66.4% (259.6 K tons), bulk cargo – 30% (115,9 K tons), mineral fertilizers – 3.6% (14 K tons). Exports in September from the total volume of transshipment amounted to 96% (375.5 thousand tons), while transit – 14 thousand tons. In September the port handled 19 dry cargo ships |
