PJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy) completed the modernization of the ammonium production plant

PJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy), a member of Group DF nitrogen line of business, completed the modernization of A-5 ammonium production plant. A total of UAH 22.28 million was invested in this project.

 

The works envisaged by the overhaul and reconstruction have been completed. The plant has been gradually picking up the momentum and reached the planned output capacity.

“It took us a month to complete the overhaul of the A-5 ammonium production plant. The main task was, first of all, to recondition the technological equipment, to increase the energy efficiency of production, to improve consumption indicators and to reduce the cost of finished products. High-quality modernization of the plant is the key to the successful operation of the enterprise as a whole, since the ammonium is used as a raw material to produce fertilizers such as ammonium nitrate, urea, urea ammonium nitrate (UAN),” commented Vitaly Sklyarov, Chairman of the Board, PJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy).

All structural units of the enterprise, plant workers, as well as about 120 contracted specialists were engaged in A-5 plant modernization.

 

In 2020, UAH 324.1 million was invested in PJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy).

 

At present, the company includes: А-3 ammonium production plant (2 units, designed capacity – 1,200 t/day) and A-5 ammonium production plant (designed capacity – 1,700 t/day); M-2 urea (carbamide) production plant (designed capacity – 1,000 t/day) and M-6 urea (carbamide) production plant (designed capacity 1,000 t/day); M-5 nitric acid production plant (9 units, designed capacity – 3,240 t/day); M-9 ammonium nitrate production plant (2 prilling towers, designed capacity – 2,970 t/day), UAN production plant (designed capacity – 3,000 t/day), etc.

 

In Q1 2020, the company produced 511,700 t of nitrogen fertilizers.
