Corporate Social Responsibility

Our responsibility starts with compliance with legal requirements: paying taxes and upholding environmental standards. We are one of the country’s pillars, because investing in new businesses and modernizing industrial giants is our contribution to the development of Ukraine’s economy. We keep improving the technological safety of our industrial processes, their energy efficiency, and their productivity, while at the same time generating tens of thousands of jobs across Ukraine.

People remain at the center of our focus at all times. Firstly, we concern ourselves about the health, safety and well-being of our 100,000 employees. At the same time, we care about the quality of life of the 1 million Ukrainians who live in the 10 cities where our companies operate.

During the full-scale war in Ukraine, we committed to actively assist the Ukrainian people and provide support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since the beginning of the war, Group DF businesses have provided assistance to the military and civilian population for a total amount of UAH 933.8 million.

Over 1.5 years humanitarian aid reached more than 5.7 million people throughout Ukraine. Charitable initiatives are carried out by the efforts of nitrogen, titanium, gas, media and logistics businesses of Group DF, by the shareholder, volunteer groups of employees of our businesses.

We are actively mobilizing resources to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by the conflict. From the very first days of the war, the Group transferred UAH 100 million to the special accounts of the National Bank of Ukraine for the provision of humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Project «Evacuation and Resettlement» – more than 300,000 civilians have been evacuated to safer areas of the country, providing temporary shelter. Additionally, a special operation was carried out to evacuate foreign citizens from vessels blocked in the Black Sea. In the humanitarian direction, the following is also being conducted: provision of water (35,000 liters), food (55,000 kg), medications, and hygiene supplies (1,760 tons).

Project «Medicine» – assistance is provided to hospitals and rehabilitation centers for the wounded in 12 regions. 1,760 tons of medicines have been supplied to the needs of the Ministry of Health institutions, along with medical equipment: monitors, ophthalmoscopes, laryngoscopes, portable breathing devices for adults and children. Nitrogen enterprises of  OSTCHEM holding shipped 489,000 cubic meters of medical oxygen to hospitals. The Group’s enterprises support the Children’s Heart Foundation by providing assistance to the Centre of Children’s Cardiology and Cardio Surgery “Okhmatdit” for children affected by explosions.

We initiate and finance social programs aimed at helping Ukrainian citizens adapt to the new conditions of life during times of instability.

Project «Unbreakable» – Social Service Support Centers for IDPs and 25 ‘Resilience Points’ have been established.

Project «Warm Our Hearts» – the RGC Production plants together with the enterprises «Rivneazot» and «Cherkasky Azot» produced 2,200 boiler furnaces for Armed Forces of Ukraine and supplied 260 generators for civilian and military needs.

Project «City Restoration» – the restoration of the energy infrastructure and water supply, assistance in repairing damaged educational institutions, contributing to the rebuilding of the lives of Ukrainians in the de-occupied territories of Ukraine.

Project «Cars for the Armed Forces of Ukraine» – purchase of 958 cars and 93.4 thousand liters of fuel. The vehicles were provided in accordance with orders of militants who protect our country on the front line. In addition to passenger cars we also provided dump trucks, flatbed vehicles, vans, mobile cranes and excavators. The cars passed  technical inspection and were prepared for use – both in civilian conditions and on the front line. Some cars were converted according to the requests of special army units.

Project « Counteroffensive» – purchase of 138 modern drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 5 anti-drone systems, 8 special radio-electronic detection and jamming systems, 14 special equipment /cars for air defense, 13 mobile headquarters, 201 means of communication, 216 thermal imagers . In addition, assistance to the army includes: the purchase of 216 thermal imagers, 670 body armor, 6,118 tactical clothing, 93,400 liters of fuel, 155 drones, night vision devices, stoves, helmets, ammunition, generators, and a number of technical works.

About a quarter of all aid is provided through charitable foundations: YRZ Non-Profit gemeinnurtzige UG, CF «Free Air», «All-Ukrainian Fund for Assistance to the Families of Ukrainian Heroes «DRUG», NGO «Help the Front», Voluntary Formation No. 8 «Lisovyk», CF «Ukrainian Social Protection», CF «Volunteers of Podillia», CF «Lazar», CF «Communities of Zhytomyr», CF «Teple Misto».

According to the rankings of Ukrainian media, Group DF and Dmitry Firtash are among the top 10 private companies/entrepreneurs in Ukraine that provide the most assistance to the country during the war.
