PrJSC “Severodonetsk Azot Association” resumed production of argon, nitrogen, and medical-grade oxygen

PrJSC “Severodonetsk Azot Association”, a member of the nitrogen line of businesses developed by Group DF, launched the production of industrial gases – argon, azot and medical-grade oxygen.

Resuming the full production cycle for ammonia, urea and ammonium nitrate allowed to set up the production of argon, nitrogen and medical-grade oxygen. These are the by-products that are easy to produce when you have the production of nitrogen fertilizers set up. In essence, the production and sale of industrial gases is not such a marginal business as, for example, the production of nitrogen fertilizers. But, if the company opens up the potential to earn additional income on a by-product of the main production, then we will do it. The company is diversifying its sources of revenue and is making the business more sustainable. We expand the number of our clients and extend our presence to the new markets,” noted Leonid Bugayov, Chairman of the Board, PrJSC “SEVERODONETSK AZOT ASSOCIATION”.

The company produces the highest-grade argon (99.99% concentration) using the Argon installatin in 1-A ammonia production plant. Installation has the capacity of 300 t of argon per month.

The company is capable of producing 4,500 t of medical-grade oxygen and 300 t of nitrogen per month.  At present, nitrogen and oxygen are produced for internal consumption (they are used in technological schemes and in the production of mineral fertilizers, in particular, urea).

In 2013, PrJSC “SEVERODONETSK AZOT ASSOCIATION” got a license from the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control to manufacture and sell medical oxygen. The company invested more than UAH200,000 to manufacture this product.

As a reminder, starting from 5 March 2020, PrJSC “SEVERODONETSK AZOT ASSOCIATION” resumed the full production cycle for fertilizers. By processing natural gas, the company produces ammonia, and from ammonia – mineral fertilizers: urea, ammonia nitrate and urea ammonium nitrate.
