The largest in 10 years in terms of scale modernization of M-6 urea (carbamide) production workshop began at PJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy), a member of Group DF nitrogen line of business.
Capital investments in the project will exceed UAH165 million. According to the business plan, this project will be completed in 45 days.
“Modernization of М-6 urea (carbamide) production workshop will be the largest project of the plant in 10 years in terms of scale. The company earns money, the shareholder continuous to make capital investments and upgrade the key production facilities. Modernization of the urea (carbamide) production workshop is a large campaign aimed at increasing the workshop capacities and achieving energy savings. We will publish exact data on the new workshop capacity following the project implementation and recovery of the workshop”, comments Vitaliy Sklyarov, Chairman of the Board, PJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy).
The set of measures will allow to increase the efficiency of chemical processes in the workshop, improve the reliability and stability of the most of the production facilities and will have a positics impact on the technical and economic performance of the workshop as a whole.
“We continue to take clear steps that will allow us to reduce production costs and, ultimately, make our company more competitive both in domestic and global markets. Though, the domestic market and supplying Ukrainian farmers will remain a priority for us”, summed up Vitaliy Sklyarov.
Project details. М-6 workshop modernization will include:
- replacement of high pressure condenser (which will allow to produce higher potential secondary steam and reduce the consumption of steam as a whole).
- Installation of a new low-pressure condenser, which has almost twice the working surface (it will allow to increase the efficiency of the circulation unit).
- replacement of the old mass transfer plates in the fusion reactor with the new ones (produced by the Swiss company UREA CASALE). The number of plates will be increased from 10 to 11 (which will allow to increase the conversion rate and reduce the steam consumption).
Implementation of these measures in general will increase the productivity of the unit and output of the workshop. A large number of other mandatory general works which the company has to carry out with the view of further unimpaired workshop operations will be carried out during the modernization.
M-6 general overhaul will be carried out by all services of the urea (carbamide) production workshop, other services of the company and contractors (Archi-Bud Investment Group LLC and “Professional” specializing in repairs and replacement of large technological equipment designed for chemical production).
