PRJSC “Severodonetsk Azot Association” invests more than uah3.1 million to increase steam production


PrJSC “Severodonetsk Azot Association”, a member of Group DF nitrogen line of business, launched the upgrade of the steam generating unit in the steam supply workshop.

 

The shareholder shall invest more than UAH 3.1 million in this project.

 

The project objective is to increase the production of steam supplied to technological workshops, and, subsequently, to increase the output of the main product (nitrogen fertilizers). Aside from that, the project will reduce the company’s electricity consumption.

 

Following the implementation of the project, capacity of boiler No. 2 in the steam supply workshop will reach the designed capacity of 75 t of steam per hour. It will allow the enterprise to ensure stable steam production in the required amounts.

 

Steam is used in the core departments of the company and is necessary for the operations of the entire technological complex of the enterprise. PrJSC “Severodonetsk Azot Association” consumes approximately 1,000,000 t of steam.

“This project has a clear economic effect. It will allow us to save about 120 kW of electricity per hour. Following the recovery at the enterprise of the full cycle of mineral fertilizers production, the total consumption of steam by the operating departments increased significantly. We are implementing this project in order to increase the output of steam and further ensure the growth of fertilizer production,” stressed Leonid Bugaev, Chairman of the Board, PrJSC “Severodonetsk Azot Association”.

During the implementation of the project, special corporate contractors will perform a large amount of installation, construction and other works. In the course of modernization, 186 wall tubes (each over 15 meters long) will be replaced. To this end, the protective fireproof casing of the boiler will be dismantled, construction works will be performed, and protective materials will be replaced. On top of that, in the course of the repair campaign, detailed diagnostics of the boiler will be carried out and defects will be eliminated.

“The shareholder of the company continues to increase capital investments in fixed assets. Thanks to investments, our production is becoming more reliable, environmentally friendly and safe, and the enterprise itself is becoming more competitive,” summed up Leonid Bugaev.

In Q1 2021, PrJSC “Severodonetsk Azot Association” produced 265,620 t of mineral fertilizers.
