PrJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy) increased the rate of shipment of mineral fertilizers

PrJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy), a member of Group DF nitrogen line of business, launched an advanced truck scale. It will allow the company to double the throughput capacity of the enterprise for shipping the products by road vehicles.

The State-Owned Enterprise “Kyivoblstandartmetrologiya” assessed the constructed weighing station for compliance with the declared metrological characteristics and issued a certificate of compliance. The total project value is about UAH 3 million.

“Our goal is to offer our customers fast and sophisticated service. To this end, we make all the necessary capital investments and improve our business processes. The construction of a new weighbridge is just one illustration of such investments. PrJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy) previously increased the production of urea-ammonium nitrate (UAN) in response to the high demand for this type of fertilizers by the farmers. Consequently, the number of truck tanks that are used to transport liquid fertilizers is growing constantly. Now the plant will have two advanced electronic truck scales which will allow us to significantly speed up the process of weighing the trucks. This is especially relevant at this moment, during the autumn sowing campaign,” said Vitalii Sklyarov, Chairman of the Board, PrJSC “Azot”.

Earlier it was reported that the company implemented a project to upgrade liquid fertilizer (UAN) production unit worth UAH 17.79 million. It allowed the company to double the UAN production capacity from 500,000 t to 1 million t per year.

Truck scales at PrJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy) are equipped with electronic tensometric scales with an elongated platform designed for long trucks weighing up to 90 t. Advanced technologies allow integrating data for each truck directly into the automated IT system of the enterprise that automatically generates consignment notes for shipped fertilizers. The entire weighing process takes not more than 5 minutes, and the weighing accuracy is up to 20 kg.

The next stage to improve transport logistics at the enterprise will be the construction of another modern checkpoint with an extended exit and a computerized access system for cars on the site of the old checkpoint next to the A-3 ammonium production plant. Trucks leaving the new weighbridge will pass through it.

In total, 2 automobile and 3 railway weighbridges are currently operating on the territory of PrJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy). The company recently purchased and installed advanced electronic scales for weighing railway tanks designed for loads of up to 150 t.
