[1]During 2013/2014 marketing year Nika-Tera Specialized Seaport (SSP Nika-Tera LLC), consolidating Group DF’s mineral fertilizer producers, increased the volume of grain transhipment by 105,5% from 1 071 130,325 to 2 201 618,023 tons.
In the preceding grain season the range of handled grains has been added to with barley, milling and feed wheat. In the total transhipment volume the share of corn amounted to 82,05% (1 806 288,614 tons); wheat – 17,86% (393 295,209 tons), and barley – 0,09% (2034,2 tons).
“Despite unfavourable economic and politic situation, we managed to complete successfully the current marketing year. We’ve made contracts with new grain traders and maintain cooperation with the existing ones. The increase in transhipment volumes was also facilitated by the growth of port’s grain transhipment capacities”, – commented Oleksandr Gaidu, Chairman of Nika Tera Specialised Seaport LLC.
In 2014/2015 marketing year Nika-Tera terminal will launch a new silo-type grain elevator with the capacity of 170K tons.
According to Oleksandr Gaidu, in the new season the transhipment volumes will grow with the product range being extended. Subject to the approved business plan, in 2014 the terminal plans to handle about 3 million tons of various grains. Besides, next year the terminal will start rendering services for cleaning and drying of grains supplied by motor transport.
