“NIKA-TERA” handled more than 5 million tons of cargo
September 17, 2020. Nikolaev. Ukraine. – Since the beginning of 2020, the cargo turnover of the “SSP NIKA-TERA”, which is part of Group DF, has exceeded 5 million tons.
On Thursday, September 17, the port “NIKA-TERA” reached 5 mln (five million) turnover mark. Thedetermining ton was shipped as part of an export consignment of Ukrainian wheat to the ALPINA barge. After loading in the port, the barge set off for the subsequent top-off on roads to Panamax-type vessel BRAVERY. After completing top-off operations on roads, the Panamax with a 63kt lot of wheat would sail to Indonesia.
In the structure of cargo handled for the reported period, the share of cereals, legumes and oilseeds, as well as their processing products amounted to 4.09 million tons or 82% of the total cargo turnover, bulk cargo – 800.2 thousand tons (16%), fertilizers – 117.4 thousand tons (2%).
Since the beginning of the year 253 vessels have been handled in the port.
A significant increase in the transshipment of agricultural crops became possible due to the expansion of storage capacities for one-time storage.
Looking back it should be pointed out that “SSP NIKA-TERA” for the first time crossed the five-million mark in cargo turnover in November 2018, which was a record figure at the time.
