A technological line for the production of additional volumes of urea was launched in department No. 2 of the urea production workshop of the PrJSC “Severodonetsk Azot Association”.
“We put into operation a new technological line for the production of urea and already produced finished products. Currently, we are adjusting the technological process to achieve optimum performance parameters. The next task is to bring the line to the installed production capacity – 400 t of urea per day”, – said Leonid Bugayov, Chairman of the Board, PJSC “Severodonetsk Azot Association”.
For more than five years, department No. 2 of the urea production shop was standing still. The launch of the first production line was preceded by a comprehensive preparatory campaign: diagnostics and repairs of equipment, pipelines, communications were carried out, control systems were adjusted.
Department No. 2 of urea production workshop (previously М-2 workshop) was commissioned in 1965. The division consists of two technological lines. After the modernization, the actual production capacity of the department is 800 t of urea per day. The total capacity of the urea production workshop is 2,000 t per day.
The reason for the launch of new facilities is that urea continues to enjoy stable demand in various markets.
“OSTCHEM enterprises have learned to react quickly to changing market conditions. If it is more profitable to produce urea, we will increase its production. If there is an increased demand for ammonia or ammonium nitrate, we accordingly increase the production of these products. We are trying to increase the output of the most marginal products,” – said Leonid Bugaev.
According to him, the enterprise has begun preparatory work to launch the second line in department no. 2 of the urea production workshop, but the prospects of launching this line will be determined by the current situation in the fertilizer market.
At PrJSC “Severodonetsk Azot Association” the full production cycle for the production of nitrogen fertilizers was restored in March 2020. After almost one and a half years of standstill, the enterprise resumed the operations of 1-A ammonia production shop, put into operation department No. 1 of the urea production workshop with the capacity of 1,200 t per day.
