In the first half of November Ostchem enterprises produced 268,900 m3 of medical oxygen


Since 1 October through 14 October 2021, enterprises of Ostchem, a nitrogen holding company, produced and shipped 268.9 m3 of medical oxygen to health care institutions.

 

Medical oxygen is supplied free of charge to hospitals in 12 regions of Ukraine in clear coordination with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, heads of regional state administrations and and mayors of the cities. These are the hospitals in Kyiv, Volyn, Sumy, Cherkasy, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Mykolaiv, Luhansk and partly Donetsk regions. Medical grade oxygen is supplied in tanks or cylinders.

Breakdown of medical oxygen supplies in terms of the regions (since 1 November through 14 November 2021):

  • PJSC “Azot” (Cherkasy) produced 288 t of medical oxygen (in October –  560 t). Medical oxygen is delivered in tanks to hospitals in Sumy, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Volyn, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Mykolaiv regions.
  • PrJSC “Severodonetsk Azot Association” supplied the hospitals with 38,800 m3 (6,462 cylinders) of medical oxygen (in October – 43,900 m3). Medical oxygen is supplied to Luhansk and partly Donetsk regions.
  • PJSC “Rivneazot” supplied 28,500 m3 of medical oxygen (in October – 17,300 m3). The company supplies medical oxygen to hospitals in Rivne, Volyn and Zhytomyr regions.

“Since the beginning of 2021, three Ostchem chemical enterprises have supplied a total of 971.2 m3 of medical oxygen to health care institutions. These are not just numbers. They are about the chances to save people who are now in hospitals. It is hard to estimate, but these are thousands of lives. Helping doctors is the No. 1 social priority for our nitrogen line of business. These days our enterprises have been working at their maximum capacity in order to meet the hospitals’ demand for medical oxygen. We manage to meet the requests from the health care institutions in the local communities; we also work to expand the number of regions where we supply the medical oxygen,” said Oleg Arestarkhov, Head, Corporate Communications Department, Group DF.

According to him, aside from supplying medical oxygen, local enterprises provide hospitals with additional assistance needed in the context of an epidemic. This refers to the allocation of funds and procurement of equipment for the supply of medical oxygen, the construction of oxygen-charging stations.

 

Earlier, Group DF press service reported that since the beginning of 2020, Dmytro Firtash’s Group DF has provided assistance to Ukraine’s health care institutions to the amount of more than UAH56 million.
