[1]Ukraine’s U12 (children born in 2000 and younger) Futsal Championship will take place in Gorlivka (Donetsk region) on 4-7 February 2013. The Championship is held under the auspices of the Futsal Association of Ukraine. The matches will take place at the sports facilities of Concern Stirol, the Ukrainian chemical giant, and at Gorlivka stadium “The Dawn”.
The organizer and the primary sponsor of the tournament Concern Stirol (part of OSTCHEM) announced that the sporting facilities were fully prepared to host the competitions. 16 teams from Kyiv, Zaporizhya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Cherkasy and Donetsk regions will take part in the Championship. The opening ceremony is planned for 4 February at the Sports Palace of Concern Stirol. According to regulations, the competitors will be split into two groups. The two strongest teams from each group will get through to the semifinal. The winner of the tournament will be defined in the final which will take place on 7 February.
“Gorlivka hosts the Futsal Championship of Ukraine for the second year in a row. And Stirol has enough experience to hold such competitions. We are sure that the Championship will be held on the highest level. It’s a pleasant mission for us, because Gorlivka citizens actively support our team” – mentioned the Head of the Management Board of Concern Stirol Sergiy Pavlyuchuk.
Last year, the players of Gorlivka-based club Stirol-DUSSh No2 (Children’s and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve) won the gold medals of the tournament. The team is coached by Nikolay Krykun and Eduard Sklyarov.
The Head of the Supervisory Board of Concern Stirol Aleksandr Khalin is convinced that large enterprises should support sports in the regions of their operations. “It is very important for local citizens, for employees of our companies. Local budgets can’t always support the events of national scale and businesses should lend their shoulder”.
NOTE.
Concern Stirol has been supporting Stirol-DUSSh No2 for several years as its primary sponsor. The company also supports the Pan-Ukrainian Futsal Competition among Children and Youth. Stirol-DUSSh No2 is multiple winner of the Futsal Cup of Ukraine. Last year, they became winners of an international futsal tournament in Salou, Spain, and the 2012 Open CIS Championship in Moscow, Russia. The team’s latest trophy was the 2012 Futsal Cup of Ukraine.
