Group DF’s agribusiness segment is represented by DF Agro holding company and includes the DF Agro (Synkiv) greenhouse complex located in Synkiv, Ukraine.

The Group is considering a number of investment projects in Ukraine, a country boasting rich agricultural resources. Group DF enjoys a number of competitive advantages in developing this business segment, being a major mineral fertilizer producer with a leading pan-Ukrainian distribution network. In addition to that, Nika Tera Specialized Seaport provides the Group with its own grains and other dry bulk transshipment capacities.

DF Agro (Synkiv)

Group DF's first agribusiness investment project is DF Agro (Synkiv) greenhouse complex built in 2012. Located in the town of Synkiv in the Ternopil region of Ukraine and spanning 10 hectares of land (first development stage), it is the largest greenhouse complex in the Western part of the country. It is also the most technologically advanced greenhouse complex in Ukraine, and one of the most advanced in Europe.

Currently, DF Agro (Synkiv) production capacities are up to 4 thousand tons of tomatoes, 1.55 thousand tons of peppers and 350 tons of cucumbers per annum. We plan to expand the greenhouse complex to 40 hectares of land in the future.

DF Agro (Synkiv) is the first domestic greenhouse complex to produce pepper on an industrial scale. Previously, only 1 percent of the total greenhouse area in Ukraine was used for pepper cultivation. The current production capacities of DF Agro (Synkiv) will enable Ukraine to decrease its annual pepper imports by 20 percent and its annual tomato imports by 7 percent.

DF Agro (Synkiv) uses state-of-the-art Dutch equipment and advanced Israeli vegetable growing technologies. It is equipped with computerized systems of sprinkling, temperature control, nutrition and fertigation, as well as round-the-clock plant lighting.

The complex includes storage and packing workshops, as well as a seedling greenhouse capable of growing 8.4 million plants per annum.
